Aristo Gaspar studied culinary arts in Mexico City at the Escuela De Gastronomia Mexicana and received his certification in Mexican Gastronomy. Armed with this new education, he learned new techniques and flavors of the country.  Before venturing out on his own, he had worked for the notable Cordua restaurant group for 25 years and specifically at the Americas and Churrascos. His passion and love for cooking drives his creativity. Recently, Aristo was invited to participate in the Chef gala at the George R. Brown Convention center. He has also collaborated with the University of Houston and Rice University.

Since he was a young child, the art of cooking has always been a part of Leon's life. While attending Cordon Bleu and taking an intense basic Cuisine Certificate course, he decided to move to North Carolina. After gaining more experience at various establishments, Leon found his way to Houston. He began putting that knowledge to use and began consulting, which is what brought him to the Decorative Center and Roots Cafe.
